Manhunt
DETECTIVES have launched a manhunt to find a crook suspected to be involved in a spate of burglaries that netted about £10,000.
Jimmy Dormer, also known as James Filan, pictured, is wanted in connection with burglaries targeting residential properties and upmarket hotels dotted around Bayswater, Paddington and Mayfair.
Victims were left distressed after electrical equipment, cash and jewellery were stolen and the police are trying to trace the man and stop him before he targets other homes or hotels.
The affected properties include a residential property in Hyde Park Gardens, Lancaster Gate, which was burgled on January 12; a residential property in Bryanston Square, Mayfair, which was targeted on January 14; the Shaftesbury London Premier Hotel in Westbourne Terrace, Paddington, which was hit on January 22; and the Hyde Park Towers Hotel in Inverness Terrace, Bayswater, which was targeted on October 20.
Police have released an image of 29-year-old Dormer and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Det Sgt Andy Swindells of the Westminster Burglary Squad said: "These are substantial burglaries in which windows were forced open and at a guess about £10,000 worth of property in total have been stolen.
"Dormer has connections to the West End and Victoria and I would suggest he is probably living nearby the scenes of the last crimes, probably in low budget accommodation or staying with friends.
"I would suggest he is acting alone - we are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the burglaries.
"These burglaries have caused much distress to the victims. We are concerned to do all we can to halt the perpetrator in their tracks. In this case, I'm asking the public for their help."
If you have information of Dormer's whereabouts please contact the Westminster Burglary squad on 020 7321 6875. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
